Polso Sano

The 40th edition of Polso Sano took place in Pulsano (Taranto) on August 23 and 24, 2025, with the official opening anticipated on August 22. For two evenings, starting at 7:00 PM, the historic center and Piazza Castello returned to the Middle Ages.

The grand historical pageant crossed the alleys with ladies, knights, nobles, and commoners in period costumes, accompanied by flag-wavers, jesters, stilt-walkers, fire-eaters, and musicians. The heart of the festival, as per tradition, was the arm-wrestling tournament between the districts to crown the "healthiest wrist" of the fiefdom. There was no shortage of the medieval tavern with spit-roasted meat, handmade pasta, cured meats, and cheeses, as well as medieval games and puppet theater for children. To mark the anniversary, a photographic exhibition retracing the 40 editions of the event was set up at the De Falconibus Castle. The event, with free admission, was organized by the Pro Loco of Pulsano with the patronage of the Municipality.
