Edition 2025 — Plautus Festival

The 65th edition of the Plautus Festival took place in Sarsina from July 5 to August 16, 2025, under the artistic direction of Edoardo Siravo. Thirteen performances were scheduled, divided between the Arena Plautina (eight shows) and Piazzetta Lucio Pisone (five shows), featuring the classic voices of Oedipus, Sophocles, Plautus, and Euripides, and opening with the Roman Festival on July 5 and 6.

The 65th edition of the Plautus Festival animated Sarsina from July 5 to August 16, 2025, under the artistic direction of Edoardo Siravo. The program brought together thirteen performances: eight staged at the Arena Plautina and five in the more intimate Piazzetta Lucio Pisone. The festival confirmed its role as a bastion of Ancient Drama, giving voice to the great classics of Sophocles, Euripides, and of course Plautus. Among the titles were Casinaria by Aureliano Delisi (a new comedy inspired by Casina, Pseudolus, and Asinaria), the world premiere Biglietto da visita with students from EIMCD Paris (July 25), and the Italian premiere of Trapulòn by Aldo Spallicci, based on Plautus's Pseudolus. The traditional Roman Festival opened the edition on the weekend of July 5 and 6.
