Edition 2025 — Platypus
Three days spread across the historic center
The second edition of the Platypus Festival animated Alberobello from July 10th to 12th, 2025, transforming the city into an open-air stage. Each day featured different artists and locations, including Belvedere Santa Lucia, Largo Martellotta, Villa Belvedere, and the Trullo Sovrano.
The common thread of the edition was the sculptural exhibition "Ecosofia" by visual and multimedia artist Jose Carlos Bellantuono, a poetic and sensory exploration between nature and technology set up at Villa Belvedere for the duration of the festival. On July 11th, the electroacoustic poem "Leta" was performed at Largo Martellotta, while a stage of the national poetry slam took place at Belvedere Santa Lucia with public involvement. The closing evening on July 12th, at the Trullo Sovrano, intertwined audiovisual performances inspired by Southern folk traditions and experimental sound installations. Admission was free.
