2025 Edition
On Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 7:30 PM, Morro Reatino hosted the 39th Pizzola Festival, the last stop before the fortieth anniversary. As per tradition, the festival was concentrated in the historic center of the town, in the province of Rieti, with volunteers busy frying the village's typical bread dough in plain sight.
The menu offered pizzole in all variations — plain with salt, sweet with sugar, filled with mortadella, prosciutto, or hazelnut cream — accompanied by beans with pork rinds, a dish from the Rieti peasant cuisine. After dinner, the square turned into a dance floor with a performance by the band Nice and Easy.
The event was part of the calendar of Rieti festivals for Ferragosto, which are very popular with residents and vacationers in the Lake Piediluco area.
