Piz Giumela Kaiserschützen Commemoration

The 2025 Piz Giumela Kaiserschützen Commemoration was held in Peio, Val di Sole (Trentino-Alto Adige), from Friday, September 5, to Sunday, September 7. As every year, the event combined the remembrance of the Austrian soldiers who fell on Piz Giumela with a powerful message of peace and reconciliation.

The main day on Sunday opened with a gathering at the sports field and a procession to the former military cemetery of Colle San Rocco, where Holy Mass, official speeches, the blessing of the graves, and the laying of wreaths took place, accompanied by a rifle salute from the Schützenkompanien. Delegations from the Austrian Black Cross, the Kaiserschützen, the Schützen, and the Alpini were present, alongside authorities from the Municipality of Peio and the Autonomous Province of Trento.
