Edition 2025 — Pisa Folk
The 23rd edition of the Pisa Folk Festival animated the Giardino Scotto in Pisa from July 1 to 6, 2025, with six days of concerts, laboratories, and workshops. The program opened on July 1st with a tribute to Pino Daniele and his masterpiece «Nero a metà», performed by three of his historic collaborators — Gigi De Rienzo, Ernesto Vitolo, and Agostino Marangolo. On July 4th, Salento tradition took center stage with Giancarlo Paglialunga and an ensemble of tambourine players, exploring pizzica and taranta. On Saturday, July 5th, Ginevra Di Marco and Franco Arminio took the stage, accompanied by Francesco Magnelli and Andrea Salvadori, for a show blending poetry and song. Closing the festival on Sunday, July 6th, was the only Italian date before the Farewell Tour of Mulatu Astatke, a legend of ethio-jazz. The edition also introduced children's workshops dedicated to Italian popular traditions, particularly those of Tuscany and Sardinia.
