Pirandello Fringe Festival – Six Short Stories in Search of a Stage

The genesis of the festival

The Pirandello Fringe Festival has its roots in the 2025/2026 season of the Teatro Pirandello in Agrigento, the first under the direction of artistic director Roberta Torre. It was during this period that the dramaturgy workshop led by writer and screenwriter Ottavio Cappellani began, a training path from which the short plays inspired by Luigi Pirandello's stories were born.

From this scenic writing work emerged the call for entries «Six Short Stories in Search of a Stage», which led to the selection of the six winning texts and the immersive staging in the city's symbolic locations during the first edition in 2026. A gestation phase that ideally links the theatre's new vision to the Agrigento territory and the Pirandellian legacy.
