Edition 2025 — San Besso
In 2025, the pilgrims of Cogne once again made the ascent to the Sanctuary of San Besso, crossing the Colle dell'Arietta and staying overnight at altitude. The following day, Solemn Mass and the procession with the martyr's statue around the great rock renewed a centuries-old rite.
In 2025, the Pilgrimage to San Besso confirmed its identity-affirming strength. From Cogne, the fittest hikers undertook the high-altitude trek to the sanctuary, amidst the Colle dell'Arietta, snow sections, and equipped passages. After the overnight stay, the Solemn Mass and the procession around the rock of martyrdom once again united popular faith and love for the mountain, in one of the oldest traditions of the Western Alps.
