Pilgrimage to Saint Nazarius the Martyr

The 2025 edition

In 2025, the Saint Nazarius the Martyr feast once again confirmed its appeal: on July 27th and 28th, thousands of devotees from Poggio Imperiale, Lesina, Apricena, and San Nicandro Garganico set out toward the Sanctuary of San Nazario, many walking through the Alto Tavoliere countryside at night.

On the morning of July 28th, holy mass was celebrated, followed by a short procession with the saint's statue along the sanctuary square. The usual fair with stalls, vendors, and rides came to life around the hermitage, renewing a rite of faith and community that has been repeated for centuries at the foot of the Gargano, on the shores of Lake Lesina.

2025 Program

• July 27 — Walking pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of San Nazario, including overnight, from neighboring towns.
• July 28 — Solemn holy mass at the sanctuary; followed by the procession of the Saint Nazarius statue in the square with representatives of the neighboring municipal administrations.
• Grand fair with stalls, local products, and rides in the hermitage square.
