Pilgrimage to Our Lady of the Snows (Vow of Biandino)

In 2025, the Vow of Biandino was punctually renewed on August 5th. The procession started at dawn from Introbio, in the province of Lecco, ascending towards the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Snows in Val Biandino. Hundreds of faithful—inhabitants of the village, people from Valsassina, and tourists—gathered on the valley's meadows for the religious celebrations, renewing the promise made in 1836 to be protected from cholera. A tradition nearly two centuries old, which continues to unite the community of Introbio in faith, memory, and connection with the mountains.
