Pork Festival of Montiano

The 18th edition of the Pork Festival of Montiano took place on Sunday, January 26, 2025, in Piazza Maggiore, in the heart of the Rubicone village of Cesena. The day followed the usual program: from 9 AM the sale of ciccioli and the opening of the market, at 10 AM the cicciolata prepared live along the village streets, at noon the opening of the food stand with a demonstration of pork processing. Among the innovations of that year, the competition for the best cicciolo, with the awarding of the top three finishers at 2:30 PM. In the afternoon, pasquaroli groups performed, and at 4:15 PM, the traditional lottery was held in the piazza. The food stand offered puntarine with beans and pork rind, polenta with pork sauce, liver bits, freshly prepared salami and sausage. The event, organized by the Pro Loco of Montiano, was held even in case of rain.
