Edition 2025 — Pietre Gemelle Fair

On June 2, 2025, Riva Valdobbia hosted the Pietre Gemelle Fair, an event that precedes the summer and symbolically accompanies the ascent of livestock to the alpine pastures. The herds descended into the village with polished cowbells and floral crowns, in a slow procession that evokes an ancient ritual linked to the identity of the mountain community and the Walser culture of Valsesia.

2025 Edition

The 2025 edition of the Pietre Gemelle Fair took place on June 2, 2025, in the area of the Sports Center of Riva Valdobbia, in Alagna Valsesia. The star of the day was the livestock, exhibited before the ascent to the alpine pastures: the herds paraded with polished cowbells and crowns of flowers, recounting an ancient mountain ritual.

Cheeses, cured meats, wood artisans, and local producers accompanied the event, offering visitors the chance to discover an authentic piece of Walser culture. The fair was organized by the Municipality of Alagna-Riva in collaboration with the Mountain Union of Valsesia Municipalities.
