Pietra Sublime International Monumental Sculpture Symposium

4th edition: twelve sculptors from thirteen nations

The fourth edition of the "Pietra Sublime" Symposium, held in Cavriglia from April 30 to May 19, 2024, brought together twelve international sculptors (four women and eight men) from Italy, Armenia, China, Iran, France, Slovenia, Ukraine, India, Georgia, Chile, Germany, and South Korea at Bellosguardo. Under the artistic direction of Bettino Francini and with the support of the Municipality of Cavriglia, the artists created monumental works dedicated to commemorating the Nazi-Fascist massacres of July 4-11, 1944.

The inauguration ceremony for the works was held on May 19, 2024. The sculptures were permanently placed between Cavriglia, Castelnuovo dei Sabbioni, and Meleto Valdarno, enriching the area's widespread sculpture park.
