The 2025 tribute

In 2025, the music scene in Capoliveri experienced a particularly intense moment. The "Sugar is Back" festival, scheduled from June 24 to 26 in Piazza Matteotti, had been conceived and curated by Piero Gagliardi himself as artistic director, featuring three evenings of international music (blues, funk, and acid-jazz).

From festival to homage

His sudden passing, just days before the start, transformed the edition into a moving tribute to his figure. At the end of July, the "Let's Rock" concert followed, another evening of music and memory dedicated to "Piero dello Sugar Reef." It is from this foundation that, the following year, the Piero Sugar Live Memorial was born.
