Picciafuoco 2025 in Rutigliano

The 2025 edition of Picciafuoco confirmed the collective terracotta ritual in the historic centre of Rutigliano, in the province of Bari. Promoted by the APS LUP – Laboratorio Urbano Paese as part of the Galloforie project, the event renewed the ancient gesture of building a monumental kiln in earth and glass, led by mastro picciafuoco Roberto "Bob" Guerri.

As per tradition, the community took part in all phases of the ritual, from the raising of the furnace to the firing and the final opening with the presentation of the work, which then became part of the heritage of the Open-Air Museum of the Terracotta Whistle. Music, poetry, and conviviality accompanied the days, confirming Picciafuoco as one of the most identity-defining events of the Rutigliano summer.
