The 2025 Carnival in the Madonie
The 2025 edition of the Petralia Sottana Carnival, in the Municipality of Petralia Sottana (province of Palermo), opened the district's festivities on February 28th, with masked parades and allegorical floats that brought the village squares to life.
The Madonie circuit
Petralia Sottana participated in the A Carnilivarata festival, the Carnival of the Madonie, which featured allegorical floats from various municipalities in the territory — including Bompietro, Alimena, and Castellana Sicula — in a calendar of events spread across the Park's villages. A popular celebration that, year after year, has consolidated the collaboration between the Madonie communities and the tradition of floats built by local associations.
