2025 Chestnut Festival

From October 31 to November 2, 2025, Pescorocchiano hosted three days dedicated to the Castagna Rossa del Cicolano. The event opened on October 31 with «Halloween in castagna», an evening designed for families, followed by the Chestnut Festival in its traditional form on November 1 and 2.

The gastronomic route wound through the streets of the Castello del Peschio, featuring roasted chestnuts, Pizza Rentorta, fried Pizzilli, and sagne, alongside products from producers in Pescorocchiano, the Cicolano region, and the Province of Rieti. The tastings were accompanied by craft markets, live music, activities for all ages, and walks through the ancient chestnut groves surrounding the village.

The organizers presented the edition as an opportunity to enhance the natural and cultural resources of the area, support local businesses, and promote sustainable tourism built on collaboration between producers, artisans, and community associations.
