Periferie Animate

The fourth edition of Periferie Animate took place from May 12 to 18, 2025, with free events in Bari and the municipalities of Bitonto, Modugno, and Noicattaro, as part of the National Cinema and Images for Schools Plan.

During the first few days, at the spaces of Kinè - La Cinegiocoteca in Bari, children aged 3 to 10 became official jurors for the competition, voting for the animated short films in the running. Screenings continued at the Cinema ABC in the San Girolamo neighborhood, featuring competitive and non-competitive shorts, as well as a performance by the Italian-French group Grimoon.

The grand finale on May 17 and 18 included the inauguration of a new mural on the facade of the school in the Mungivacca neighborhood, created with the Pigment Workroom association, and a neighborhood party on Saturday. On Sunday, at the Multisala Showville, the awards ceremony for the winning works took place, along with the screening of short films created by students during the workshops. In total, the edition involved over 3,500 students from 15 schools in the Bari metropolitan area.
