Perfomedia 2025: "The Persistence of the Gesture"

The 2025 edition, hosted for the first time in Sicily, transformed Ortigia into a living stage for performance art. The festival, dedicated to the memory of its founder Emilio Morandi, proposed the theme "The Persistence of the Gesture", a reflection on resistance, continuity, and movement in memory.

The actions took place on Saturday, June 14, at the Galleria Montevergine Arte Contemporanea (morning and afternoon) and on Sunday, June 15, at the Belvedere alla Turba – Bastione Cannamela, overlooking the sea. Among the protagonists were artists such as Ana Milovanović (Serbia), Analía Beltrán i Janés (Spain), Daniel Daligand (France), Ewa Rybska and Wladyslaw Kaźmierczak (Poland), and numerous Italian performers. The event, with free admission, was curated by Marilena Vita with the patronage of the Municipality of Syracuse and the Sicilian Region.
