Perfomedia — International Performance Art Festival

Perfomedia 2025: the Syracuse debut

The first edition of Perfomedia in Syracuse was held on June 14 and 15, 2025 on the island of Ortigia. Following previous editions in Venice and Warsaw, the festival chose the city of Syracuse for its new edition, dedicated to the theme "The Persistence of Gesture", in homage to the theoretical reflection of Emilio Morandi.

The event brought together fourteen international artists from Italy, France, Spain, Poland, and Serbia. Performances took place on Saturday, June 14, at the Galleria Montevergini Arte Contemporanea (from 11:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00) and on Sunday, June 15, at the Belvedere alla Turba, Bastione Cannamela (from 17:00 to 20:00). The curation was entrusted to Marilena Vita. Admission to all events was free, with the patronage of the Municipality of Syracuse and the Sicily Region.

2025 Program

• Saturday, June 14 — Galleria Montevergini Arte Contemporanea: performances from 11:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00 (press conference at 10:00)
• Sunday, June 15 — Belvedere alla Turba, Bastione Cannamela: performances from 17:00 to 20:00

• Fourteen international artists from Italy, France, Spain, Poland, and Serbia
• Theme: "The Persistence of Gesture," a tribute to Emilio Morandi
