Penitential Procession of Sant'Erasmo

2025 Edition

The Procession of Sant'Erasmo in 2025 was held on Monday, June 2, a public holiday that encouraged the participation of the faithful and emigrants returning to the village of Acciano. As per tradition, two distinct processions departed simultaneously from Beffi and Succiano, reuniting along the way to climb together to the Hermitage of Sant'Erasmo on Monte Offermo.

After the blessing of the fields at the Cunetta di Sant'Erasmo and the Holy Mass celebrated in the sanctuary, the priest blessed and distributed the traditional bread of Sant'Erasmo. The day concluded with the return of the processions to the valley, renewing an identity rite that unites the communities of the Aterno Valley.
