Edition 2025 — Pecorara Festival
The 35th edition: a record-breaking anniversary
The 35th Pecorara Festival took place in Furci, in the province of Chieti, on the evening of August 13, 2025, starting at 7:00 PM, in the gardens of the Sanctuary of Beato Angelo. The edition marked a small anniversary for the event, reaching its 35th year and organized as always by the Parish Group of the Sanctuary.
The absolute star was the pecorara, mutton cooked for hours in copper cauldrons with tomatoes and spices. Alongside the traditional dish, visitors were able to enjoy sandwiches with local ventricina, the typical celli ripieni, beer, and wine. The evening was enlivened by live music from Marcello Greco and Bruno Di Risio. The edition recorded a record turnout, confirming the Pecorara Festival as one of the most popular gastronomic events of the Abruzzo summer; at the end, the Parish Group publicly thanked the volunteers and visitors.
