Patronal Feast of the Nativity of Mary

The 2025 edition of the Patronal Feast of the Nativity of Mary took place in Morino, in the Valle Roveto in the province of L'Aquila, following the September 8th tradition. The day revolved around the solemn mass and the procession of the wooden statue of the Virgin through the village streets, with the customary stop at the 'Manto della Madonna'. That year, the September feast took on a special significance: after the scaling back of the April celebrations for the Madonna del Buon Consiglio and Saint Anthony Abbot, the Festival Committee had announced that the collected offerings would be used precisely for the autumn patronal celebrations, reaffirming the centrality of the cult of Santa Maria Bambina in the identity of Morino.
