Patronal Feast of the Martyrdom of Saint John the Baptist in Montevecchia

In 2025, Montevecchia celebrated the Martyrdom of Saint John the Baptist, its patron saint, on August 29th. The community gathered for the solemn Mass in the parish church dedicated to the saint, halfway up the hills of the Curone Park.

The traditional rite of the beacon was also held, with the burning of the cotton-covered balloon on the parvis, a symbolic gesture recalling the saint's martyrdom as a life given entirely, love, and the light of faith. A tradition that continues to unite faith and identity for the Brianza village.
