Edition 2025 — Madonna di Anzano

In 2025, the Patronal Feast of the Madonna di Anzano took place in Anzano di Puglia on the Monday after Pentecost, renewing the ancient pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Santa Maria di Anzano. The statue of the Virgin was carried on an ox-drawn cart and accompanied in procession, while the faithful from Trevico, Zungoli, Vallesaccarda, and Scampitella reached the village in the Subappennino Dauno amidst hymns, bands, and prayers.

The 2025 edition of the Patronal Feast of the Madonna di Anzano confirmed the vitality of one of the most heartfelt religious traditions of the Subappennino Dauno. In Anzano di Puglia, in the Foggia area, the statue of the Madonna was carried in procession on an ox-drawn cart, following the rite that commemorates the ancient legend of its discovery.

Pilgrims from Trevico, Zungoli, Vallesaccarda, and Scampitella met at the Mastralessio hamlet to reach the sanctuary together and participate in the solemn Holy Mass. Brass bands, hymns, and a concluding fireworks display accompanied a day of popular devotion and shared celebration between Puglia and Irpinia.
