Patronal Feast of the Madonna del SS. Rosario

The 2025 Patronal Feast of the Madonna del SS. Rosario brought Montemesola, in the province of Taranto, to life from October 5th to 7th, with a program that intertwined religious rites, confraternal traditions, and moments of community celebration. The organization was handled by the Santa Maria della Croce parish, led by Father Andrea Casarano, together with the Confraternity of the SS. Rosario.

The highlight was the patronal solemnity on October 7th, featuring morning masses, the solemn evening celebration, the presentation of the 'Munificus' award to community benefactors, and the solemn procession with the statue of the Madonna. The evening concluded with a concert by the 'G. Chimienti' musical association in Piazza 4 Novembre. The year 2025 also marked a historic milestone for the feast, as it was inscribed in the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Puglia.

Sunday, October 5

• 7:00 PM — Holy Mass with the induction ceremony for new brothers and sisters of the Confraternity of the SS. Rosario.

Monday, October 6

• 7:00 PM — Holy Mass with the presentation of scrolls to brothers and sisters celebrating their 50th anniversary of membership in the association.

Tuesday, October 7 — Patronal Solemnity

• 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM — Morning Holy Masses.
• 7:00 PM — Solemn Eucharistic celebration with the presentation of the 'Munificus' award to those who have distinguished themselves through commitment, professionalism, and devotion to the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary. Following this, the solemn procession with the statue of the Madonna through the town streets.
• 9:30 PM — Concert by the 'G. Chimienti' musical association, conducted by Maestro Lorenzo De Felice, in Piazza 4 Novembre.
