Patronal Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Grace (Pentecost / Perdonanza)

The 2025 edition of the Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Grace took place in coincidence with Pentecost, according to the secular tradition of the Pescara village of Civitella Casanova. For three days, the community gathered around its patron saint, amidst solemn Masses, the recitation of the Rosary, and the opening of the Plenary Indulgence, the historical Perdonanza linked to the legacy of the Cistercian monks of the Abbey of Casanova.

As every year, the procession of the venerated 19th-century statue traveled through the streets of the historic center amidst rose petals and adorned balconies, accompanied by musical bands. The evenings in Piazza Risorgimento, free and open to everyone, offered concerts and shows, concluded by traditional fireworks, confirming the event as one of the most heartfelt in inland Abruzzo.
