Edition 2025 โ Feast of the Patron Saints of Sezze
The 2025 edition of the patronal feast renewed a centuries-old tradition that binds Sezze to its two saints: Lidano d'Antena, a Benedictine abbot of the year 1000 venerated as the reclaimer of the Pontine Marshes, and Carlo da Sezze, a 17th-century Franciscan mystic. On July 2, a day recognized as a local holiday, the Co-cathedral of Santa Maria hosted liturgical celebrations, preceded by the traditional preparatory triduum.
As is customary, the religious dimension was accompanied by community moments promoted with the involvement of local associations and the Municipality of Sezze, as part of the summer initiatives that animate the village in the Lepini Mountains, in the province of Latina. The feast of the patrons remains the most heartfelt event of the year for the residents, a prelude to the 2026 edition marked by the millennium of Saint Lidano's birth.
