2025 Patronal Feast

On September 27, 2025, Roccascalegna, a village in the province of Chieti in Abruzzo, celebrated its patron saints Cosmas and Damian. The day followed the usual local tradition: liturgical celebrations in honor of the physician saints, the procession through the streets of the historic center, and the characteristic parade of copper conche filled with grain, carried by women in traditional Abruzzese costumes.

The festivities were accompanied by a marching band, food stands with local products, and market stalls, in an atmosphere of conviviality that brings the community and the many emigrants who return to their hometown for the occasion together every year, with the evocative castle of Roccascalegna as a backdrop.
