Edition 2025 — Saint Venera in Grotte

On November 14th, 2025, Grotte celebrated its patron saint, Saint Venera, with the customary day of festivities, so cherished by the community that it led to the closure of municipal offices and schools. As per tradition, the festival began at dawn with the parade of drummers and culminated in the afternoon with a solemn High Mass at the Mother Church and the procession of the statue through the historic center.

The 2025 edition of the Patronal Feast of Saint Venera took place on November 14th, confirming the deep roots of the event within the community of Grotte (AG): for the occasion, the municipality ordered the closure of local government offices and schools.

The day followed the traditional rite: the preparatory triduum, the morning parade of the Saint Venera drummers, the solemn High Mass celebrated in the Mother Church, and, in the afternoon, the procession of the statue accompanied by a brass band and the verses of the sung rosary. The faithful crowded the streets of the center to pay homage to the patron saint, in one of the most cherished manifestations of popular religiosity in the town.
