Patronal Feast of Saint Michael the Archangel

The 2025 Edition

The feast of the patron saint of Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi, in the province of Avellino, was celebrated as always on September 29th, the date of the solemnity of Saint Michael the Archangel in the liturgical calendar. In 2025, the occasion fell on a Monday.

The reference point for the day remained the Cathedral of Sant'Antonino Martire, in Piazza Domenico Fischetti, the mother church of the Archdiocese of Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi-Conza-Nusco-Bisaccia, around which the town's devotion to Saint Michael has revolved for centuries—the same devotion that gave the town its name.

Beyond the religious calendar, September 29th remains a defining appointment for the Alta Irpinia community: the day when the town reunites, closes the summer season of events, and opens the Apennine autumn made of chestnuts, mushrooms, and the grape harvest.
