Edition 2025 — Saint Michael the Archangel in Pimonte
Pimonte, September 29, 2025
The feast of Pimonte's patron saint was celebrated on Monday, September 29, 2025, concluding a particularly intense month for the town in the Lattari Mountains. Celebrations had begun earlier in the month with the evocative procession in the hamlet of Tralìa, where the statues of Saint Michael the Archangel and the Immaculate Madonna were carried together, led by the parish priest, Father Antonino Lazzazzara.
Solemn Mass and Procession
On September 29th, the day opened with a Solemn Holy Mass at the Church of San Michele Arcangelo, attended by religious and civil authorities, and continued with the procession of the Patron's statue through the streets of the center and the hamlets, accompanied by a brass band and local confraternities. Along the route, residents set up traditional refreshment points with drinks and offerings in honor of the Saint.
Guests from the Aeolian Islands
The 2025 edition featured an unexpected guest: a delegation from the Aeolian Islands, including the mayors of Lipari and Santa Marina Salina, who made the long journey to join the procession alongside the mayor of Pimonte and the local community—a sign of the institutional friendship born from a shared devotion to Saint Michael the Archangel. Participation was free and open to all.
