Patronal Feast of Saint Michael the Archangel

2025 Edition

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint Michael the Archangel confirmed the vitality of the patronal cult in Gioia Sannitica, in the Matese area of Caserta province. As per tradition, the solemn festivities opened with the pilgrimage from the Archangel's Cave, in the Curti hamlet, to the Church of San Felice, followed by the preparatory novena.

On September 29th, the patron saint's day, the community gathered for solemn masses and the procession with the statue of the Archangel, accompanied by a brass band along streets adorned with light displays. The evening concluded with the traditional fireworks show. The civil program, organized by the Micaelitic Committee, complemented the religious celebrations with moments of popular festivity, including the wine festival and evening performances.
