Patronal Feast of Saint Giles and the Drappo dei Comuni

The 2025 edition of the Saint Giles festivities in Tolfa opened with the week of the horse, culminating on Sunday, August 17, in the 16th Drappo dei Comuni: twelve horses representing as many municipalities between the Metropolitan City of Rome and the province of Viterbo competed in thirteen heats along Viale d'Italia. Victory went to Tarquinia with Ceommo Ramon, ridden by Manolo Filippini, in the final against Bosea, who ran for Ladispoli. In the morning, the local districts had competed in the 7th Drappo degli Anelli, while the week also hosted the 55th Regional Butteri Tournament.

The patron's weekend, from August 29 to 31, animated Piazza Vittorio Veneto: on Friday, the 'Opera under the Stars' concert and the Dik Dik band; on Saturday, the tribute to Franco Califano with Maurizio Mattioli, Alberto Laurenti, and Nadia Natali; on Sunday, the solemn mass, the procession through the village streets, the release of hot-air balloons from Piazza Matteotti, the impersonation show inspired by 'Tale e Quale Show', the Saint Giles raffle, and the final fireworks. The artistic direction was curated by Gianni Marsili, with the organization of the Pro Loco and the support of the Municipality of Tolfa and the Lazio Region.
