Patronal Feast of Saint Gaudenzio Martire

The 2025 edition of the patronal feast of Saint Gaudenzio Martire took place as tradition dictates on June 1st and 2nd in Guardialfiera (CB). On the morning of June 1st, the community processed to the co-cathedral for the opening of the Holy Door, with the Bishop knocking three times with the cross before crossing the threshold; at the end of the Eucharistic celebration, the urn with the saint's relics was carried in procession through the village. The rite of closing the Door was held on the afternoon of June 2nd, renewing one of Molise's rarest and most evocative religious traditions.
