Edition 2025 — Saint Blaise Feast

On February 3, 2025, Cappadocia celebrated its patron saints, Saint Blaise and Saint Margaret. As per secular tradition, the community of the Abruzzo village gathered in the parish church for the Solemn Mass and the blessing of the throat, the devotional rite associated with Saint Blaise, protector against throat ailments. A day of faith and gathering in the heart of the mountain winter of the Nerfa Valley.

2025 Patronal Feast in Cappadocia

In 2025, the municipality of Cappadocia (AQ), in Abruzzo, once again honored its patrons Saint Blaise and Saint Margaret on February 3rd, according to a tradition rooted in the Middle Ages. The Solemn Holy Mass in the parish church dedicated to the two saints represented the central moment of the day, followed by the characteristic blessing of the throat. The anniversary confirmed its role as an identity-defining event for the small mountain community and its hamlets, in an area marked by depopulation but still tied to its religious traditions.
