Edition 2025 — Patronal Feast of Saint Antimo
The 2025 Patronal Feast
Also in 2025, the Municipality of Sant'Antimo, in Campania, experienced weeks of solemn festivities in honor of Saint Antimo, priest and martyr, between May and June. The calendar followed the traditional pattern: the eve procession on May 10, the day of the Patron's memory, then the central core of late May and early June with theatrical performances and processions of the silver bust through the historic center and peripheral neighborhoods.
The Flight of the Angels at dawn
The most photographed moment of the 2025 edition was the Flight of the Angels on Sunday, June 1st, which took place at 7:00 AM: the two performers dressed as angels crossed the square suspended from the cable, according to a ritual that has been repeated in Sant'Antimo for decades and accompanies the third act of the «Tragedy» written by Father Giuseppe Campanile.
A tradition passed down
Illuminations along the streets of the center, brass bands, market stalls, and fireworks also completed the picture of the festival in 2025, organized by the Foundation of the Chapel of Saint Antimo Priest and Martyr together with the Municipality. To the spring part were added, as every year, the commemorations of August 11 — the anniversary of the arrival of the Saint's relics, which reached the city in 1658 — and September 11, dedicated to the Patronage of the Patron Saint.
