Edition 2025 — Saint Anthony Abbot in Poggiodomo

On January 17, 2025, Poggiodomo celebrated its patron saint, Saint Anthony Abbot, according to the Valnerina tradition, with a solemn mass and the blessing of animals. An identity-defining recurrence for the small community of Umbria's smallest municipality, which annually honors the patron saint of animals in the heart of the Apennine winter.

In 2025 as well, on January 17th, Poggiodomo honored its patron saint, Saint Anthony Abbot. The feast, deeply rooted in the peasant and mountain culture of the Valnerina, featured the usual moments: the solemn mass and the blessing of animals, symbols of popular devotion to the patron saint of beasts.

Despite being a municipality with very few inhabitants, the recurrence confirmed the bond between the community of Poggiodomo and its religious traditions.
