Patronal Feast of Maria SS. della Serritella

2025 Edition

The Patronal Feast of Maria SS. della Serritella enlivened Volturino from April 30 to May 5, 2025, combining devotion and popular celebration. The festivities opened on Wednesday, April 30, with the robing and crowning of the statue and the sung rosary around the fire at the Sanctuary of Serritella, followed by the preparatory triduum.

On Sunday, May 4, the main day, the statue was transferred from the Sanctuary to the Badiale Church, accompanied by the "Città di Gambatesa" Brass Band and decorated floats; in the evening, the town gathered for the concert by Lorenzo Fragola. On Monday, May 5, the parade of the "Città di Bracigliano" Brass Band, the procession of the statue through the village streets, the grand band concert, and the closing fireworks display concluded one of the most attended festivals in the Monti Dauni, in the province of Foggia.

April 30: Robing and crowning of the statue, holy mass, and sung rosary at the Sanctuary. May 1-3: Preparatory triduum. May 4: Opening with firecrackers, mass at the Sanctuary, transfer with the "Città di Gambatesa" Band and decorated floats, evening concert by Lorenzo Fragola. May 5: Parade of the "Città di Bracigliano" Band, procession through the village, grand band concert, and fireworks display.
