Patronal Feast and Rabaton Festival

The 2025 Patronal Feast of Saints Quirico and Giulitta and Rabaton Festival were held in Castelnuovo Bormida from July 18 to 22, organized by the Pro Loco and the municipality.

Friday the 18th opened with the 'Castelnuovo in Pineta Music Festival' and street food. Saturday the 19th was the highlight: in the morning, the 'Il Borgo Nuovo' Rapid Chess Tournament; in the evening, a themed dinner in Piazza Marconi, flag-wavers, and fire shows, and finally the 41st Living Chess match in Renaissance costume in Piazza Geo Pistarino, closed by fireworks over the Bormida. Sunday the 20th featured the procession of the patron saints and an evening with a ravioli dinner and the award ceremony for the 'flowered garden' competition. Monday the 21st hosted the itinerant theatrical performance by the Teatro del Rimbombo; Tuesday the 22nd was the grand finale with a concert by the Coro Monteverdi di Cosseria, featuring pieces from Verdi's 'La Traviata' and Rossini's 'Barber of Seville'.
