Edition 2025 — Feast of Saint Antoninus

On July 4, 2025, Piacenza celebrated its patron saint, Saint Antoninus, with the usual day of celebrations. The Antonino d'oro prize was awarded to the Congregation of the Mission of the Alberoni College, on the occasion of its 400th anniversary. The solemn celebration at 11 a.m. in the Basilica was presided over by Bishop Adriano Cevolotto, accompanied by the market of stalls and the Antoniniane Events.

The 2025 edition of the feast of Saint Antoninus in Piacenza followed the traditional calendar of July 4th. The day began at 7 a.m. with Morning Lauds, the blessing of the lavender, and masses at 8 and 9 a.m.; at 10 a.m., the Banda Ponchielli paraded from Piazzale Genova to Piazza Sant'Antonino. The solemn celebration at 11 a.m., presided over by Bishop Adriano Cevolotto, concluded with the offering of the candle to the patron saint and the awarding of the Antonino d'oro 2025 prize to the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentian Fathers of the Alberoni College), on the fourth centenary of its foundation.

During the day, the Museums of Palazzo Farnese offered free admission to Piacenza residents, while an exhibition titled 'The First Jubilees and the Piacenza of the 14th Century' was set up in the cloister and portico of the Basilica. The feast concluded in the evening in Piazza Cavalli with 'Piacenza nel cuore,' a review of Piacenza dialect songs featuring Marilena Massarini.
