Patronage Feast of the Madonna del Carmine

In 2025, Mesagne celebrated its patron saint in an atmosphere of intense devotion. On Wednesday, February 19th, at 8:00 PM, the city-wide prayer vigil was held with the supplication and entrustment of the city to the Madonna, a moment of strong popular participation. On Thursday, February 20th, the anniversary of the 1743 earthquake, Eucharistic celebrations followed one another from dawn: masses at 6, 7, 8, 9, 10:30, and 12. In the afternoon, silent Eucharistic adoration at 3:30 PM, solemn vespers and benediction at 4:30 PM, the Holy Rosary at 5:15 PM, and at 6:00 PM, the concelebration presided over by the Archbishop of Brindisi-Ostuni, Monsignor Giovanni Intini, followed by the procession with the statue of the Madonna del Carmine through the streets of the city. The edition was also experienced as a city jubilee in the Mother Church.
