Edition 2025 — Patron Saints Festival
The 2025 edition of the patronal festival of San Marco d'Alunzio reaffirmed the strength of its traditional rites. On July 31, dedicated to patrons Mark and Nicholas, the Entrata r'addauru took place, with laurel branches decorated with ribbons carried in procession toward the monastery and the distribution of blessed collure. In the evening, the statue of Saint Basil was moved to the Mother Church.
On August 2, the day of Saint Basil the Great, the vara adorned with flowers and basil was carried on shoulders in procession through the village streets, accompanied by dozens of torches held by the faithful. The program for the final day included Holy Mass and vespers at 7:30 PM followed by the procession of the relics, symphonic marches at 9:30 PM, and a fireworks display at midnight to close the festivities.
