Pascoliana Festival at Passo delle Forbici

The Pascoliana Festival at Passo delle Forbici returned on Sunday, August 3, 2025, following the custom that sets it on the first Sunday of August. Promoted by the Municipality of Castiglione di Garfagnana with the support of the Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lucca, the event brought together scholars, enthusiasts, and mountain folk at Casone di Profecchia to celebrate the memory of Giovanni Pascoli.

The day followed the traditional format: the morning commemoration with Pascoli readings, the cultural meeting with experts on the poet, Holy Mass at the Madonna della Neve chapel at Passo delle Forbici, lunch at Ristorante Il Casone with traditional Garfagnana dishes, and, in the afternoon, guided hikes in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.
