In 2025, the Living Chess Game was not performed: the great reenactment of Marostica is held biennially and takes place exclusively in even-numbered years, in September. The immediately preceding edition was in September 2024 (September 6-8), which brought over 500 figures in Renaissance costume to Piazza Castello to stage the legend of the beautiful Lionora from 1454. In odd-numbered years, the town still lives its chess vocation through collateral events, but the great Game returns only the following year, in 2026.

The event is biennial: no performance was held in 2025. The great Chess Game returned in September 2026 (an even year).
