Edition 2025 — Palm Sunday in Gangi

The 2025 edition of the Palm Sunday in Gangi took place on Sunday, April 13, renewing one of the most important ancient rites in Italy. The twelve confraternities carried the Great Palms adorned with flowers and dates in procession, while the twenty-four Tamburinari, in ancient 18th-century gold and silver embroidered vestments, animated the spectacular tamburinata in the historic center of the Madonie village.

The 2025 edition was held on Sunday, April 13, confirming it as one of the most unique sacred rites in Sicily. The day began at 7:30 AM with the 'spartenza' in front of the churchyard of the Church of the Catena for the division and preparation of the palms; at 10:00 AM, the blessing at the Mother Church (Piazza del Popolo) followed, leading to the procession toward the Church of the Santissimo Salvatore for the 10:45 AM prayer service.

The twelve confraternities paraded wearing their traditional tunics with the effigies of their patron saints, each preceded by two Tamburinari. The solemn Mass was preceded by the tamburinata, the most anticipated moment, with the twenty-four Tamburinari striking their massive drums with rhythmic precision.
