Palio di San Lorenzo

The Palio di San Lorenzo 2025, the tenth edition of the event, animated Subiaco between August 2nd and 10th. The opening, on Saturday, August 2nd, at Canale Barberini, featured the ceremony of the return of the Palio by the Colle District, winner of the 2024 edition, with the captain's signature in the Palio register, the presentation of the crews, paddle races on the river, the signing of the twinning agreement with the Festa del Sole of Rieti, and a convivial evening on the banks of the Aniene with a musical show dedicated to Lucio Battisti.

On Sunday, August 10th, the day of the city's founding, for the first time, the Baby Palio and the Palio took place on the same day: after the blessing and the parade of the districts, the young crews and then the adult teams of the eight districts—Arco, Colle, Missione, Montore-La Grotta, Prestecata, San Lorenzo, Valle, and Vignola—competed with paddle strokes between the Sant'Antonio bridge and the San Francesco bridge. The edition was also marked by inclusion, with individuals with disabilities from Anffas Subiaco ETS serving as standard-bearers, and a demonstration of the 'tinozze' (tub) specialty offered by the delegation from Rieti.
