Palio delle Quattro Porte

From August 28 to September 2, 2025, Vallecorsa hosted the twelfth edition of the Palio delle Quattro Porte, the re-enactment dedicated to Jacobella Caetani, Countess of Fondi, who lived in the village in the early 15th century.

As per tradition, the four districts linked to the village's historical gates—Porta Nova, Porta De Suso, Porta De Missore, and Porta Sant'Angelo—faced off in folk games held in the squares of the historic center: tug-of-war, sack races, hoop races, the game of the goose, and the typical 'votte' and 'méila' trials, leading up to the evening musicals that award the highest points. The historical pageant in costume, with ladies, knights, and performers, paraded through the streets of the Ausoni Mountains village, in the province of Frosinone, attracting audiences from all over Ciociaria and the nearby Fondi plain for one of the most heartfelt festivals of the Lazio summer.
