Palio delle Oche and Medieval Festival ANSERVM

The fifth edition of the Palio delle Oche confirmed the tried-and-tested formula of the re-enactment: the historical procession with knights, ladies, musicians, and flag-wavers, the blessing of the geese at the church of Santa Maria a Mare, the drawing of lots for race pairings, and the jockeys' oath. The nine districts then competed in the race along the streets of the ancient village of Campomarino, in the province of Campobasso. The event, linked to the feast of the patron saint San Vincenzo Ferreri, attracted a large crowd to the historic center decorated for the festival.
