Palio delle Contrade

The Palio delle Contrade 2025 took place on Sunday, September 7 in Serracapriola, closing the patronal festivities of San Mercurio. In the morning, the draw for the two heats was held at Palazzo Arranga; in the afternoon, after the blessing of the donkeys and jockeys in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, the nine districts competed for the banner in the donkey race along Corso Garibaldi.

Participating districts included A' Vullène, U' Castell, Cav d'Arén, For' a Pòrt, A' Grépp, I Franceschèn, U' Cummènt, the new entry Porta Bianchini, and D'Agnone. The day, followed by approximately 7,000 spectators, also featured the historical pageant with flag-wavers and musicians from Lucera, a falconry display, live music in the evening, and the concluding fireworks show. The organization was managed by the INARMA A.P.I. association with the support of the Municipality of Serracapriola and the Apulia Region.
